What's the All-on-4 Dental Implant Treatment??
All-on-four dental implants replace an entire arch of missing teeth using just four implants, often in a single day. This relatively low-key procedure has been supported by over 20 years of research and is a really popular option for people who have a lot of tooth loss.
We place two implants at the front of your jaw, and then two angled implants at the back.
This approach really maximizes support, and as it happens, reduces the need for bone grafting while helping to preserve jawbone health by stimulating the bone and stopping further bone loss.
How All-on-4 Works
All-on-4 dental implants bring new life back into a full arch of 10-14 teeth by placing strategically positioned implants for maximum stability.
By placing the angulated implants in the back, we can use the bone you have and avoid having to get around any anatomical obstacles.
As a bonus, a lot of patients can get a temporary fixed prosthesis on the day of surgery.
Over the next 3-6 months, your implants will start to fuse with the jawbone through a process called osseointegration, which creates a solid foundation for the final restoration.
All-on-4 vs All-on-6 vs All-on-8: What's the Difference?
The number of implants needed can vary, but the number of them will depend on what the patient needs.
-
All-on-4 is a cost-effective option and works for most people with sufficient bone in their jaw.
-
All-on-6 provides extra stability and support for people with a bit less bone or who need to deal with higher biting forces
-
All-on-8 may be recommended for people who have significant bone loss or need bone grafting, offering the most support but a more intensive treatment process.
Our team here will take a look at your 3D CBCT scan and decide which option is right for you based on your bone quality, your bite, and your budget.
At Olive Dental Solutions, our implant specialists will evaluate your 3D CBCT scan and recommend the best option based on your bone quality, bite, and budget.
Who is a Good Candidate for All-on-4 Dental Implants in Tijuana?
We find that All-on-4 dental implants are ideal for:
-
Adults with most or all of their natural teeth missing in one or both arches.
-
People struggling with failing teeth due to decay, gum disease, or trauma need a full mouth extraction.
-
Patients fed up with their slipping dentures because they’re uncomfortable, or you can’t eat properly.
-
Patients who have enough bone in their jaw in the front and middle (this is confirmed with a CBCT scan).
-
Non-smokers or people who are happy to stop during the treatment (smoking can reduce the chances of success).
-
Patients in good general health (controlled diabetes, no active infections, and stable cardiovascular health).
When You May Need All-on-6 or Bone Grafting Instead
All-on-4 dental implants might not be suitable for everyone, though many patients may be eligible depending on their oral health, bone support, and age.
Issues like untreated gum disease, uncontrolled diabetes, heavy teeth grinding, or recent head and neck radiation therapy can make your dental situation a bit tricky and might mean you need a different treatment like All-on-6 implants, bone grafting, or a bit more pre-implant care.
Before recommending treatment, we look at several factors that affect whether the procedure is a good fit for one or both arches, including the upper jaw.
At Olive Dental Solutions, we assess each patient’s records and do a thorough analysis to figure out whether All-on-4 is right for them, then discuss suitable alternatives when needed and create a treatment plan that will give them the best chance of long-term success.

Step-by-Step: All-on-4 Procedure at Olive Dental Solution
Step 1: The Online Consultation and 3D CBCT Scan
The All-on-4 treatment starts off with a virtual consultation, where one of our implant specialists gives you personal attention from your first step through follow-up care, reviews your dental history, talks over your goals, and provides a personalized treatment plan with a clear rundown of the costs—schedule your consultation today if you’re ready to begin.
When you get to Tijuana, we use advanced equipment, including a 3D CBCT scan, to see the state of your jawbone and figure out the best way to do the implants, and in some cases we can also preview your digital smile before treatment.
You’ll go over the treatment plan with us, sort out the paperwork, and meet the anaesthetist before surgery.
Time commitment: About 2-3 hours.
Step 2: Surgery Day, Getting the Implants in and Fitting the Temporary Teeth
On the day of the dental implant surgery, your first visit begins the surgery phase, while the final prosthesis is completed in the restorative phase. We give you local anaesthesia, and if you want sedation to help you relax, we can arrange that too for a more comfortable experience.
Any remaining teeth that need to come out are extracted, the implants are put in, and temporary prosthetic teeth are attached the same day as an efficient provisional restoration. We check the provisional for a comfortable fit before you leave.
By the end of your appointment, you’ll be off, with a temporary smile that works.
Time commitment: Around 2-4 hours, followed by a short recovery time before you can head back to your hotel with the meds and aftercare instructions you’ll need.
Post-op meds:
-
Antibiotics to stop any infection for 7-10 days
-
Some painkillers to help you manage any discomfort
-
An antibacterial mouthwash to keep everything under control
Step 3: The Healing Phase (3-6 Months) & Follow-Up
Regular follow-up appointments are pretty crucial in helping our team assess healing and the osseointegration process to make sure those implants are integrating just right with your jawbone.
-
First 2 weeks: You should be eating a pretty soft diet and coming in for a checkup, either in person or virtually, whichever is easiest for you, to make sure everything is on track.
-
Week 2 follow-up: Either in-person or virtual check-in to ensure healing is on track.
-
Months 2-6: the implants are going through a process where they essentially fuse with the bone. You’ll be wearing temporary teeth during this time, and we’ll provide oral hygiene instructions to help maintain implant stability while we keep an eye on things from afar until the healing process is complete.
-
Month 4-6: Return to Tijuana for final impressions to create a new permanent prosthesis for you (or we can mail impression kits if travel is difficult).
Number of trips: Most patients make 2-3 trips total (initial surgery + final delivery, with optional mid-treatment checkup).
Step 4: Permanent Teeth and Long-term Care
Once osseointegration is complete:
-
We’ll swap out your temporary teeth for a custom-made permanent prosthesis that’s tailored just to you.
-
Our in-house lab fabricates your final prosthesis.
-
Final fitting: We attach your new smile and perform any necessary tweaks to make sure it fits and looks just right, a natural-looking smile you’ll be proud of.
If you take proper care of your All-on-4 restoration, it can last anywhere from 15 to 25 years and beyond.
To keep things looking and feeling their best, you’ll need to brush and floss daily, get regular cleanings, and come in for checkups every six months.

If your bone isn’t up to par, severe osteoporosis or some uncontrolled bone disease.

Overloading, putting too much pressure on things before they’ve even had a chance to heal.

Any systemic health issues like uncontrolled diabetes, radiation therapy, or certain meds (bisphosphonates).

I had 2 crowns and a root canal done at Olive Dental Solution a week ago. The entire process took about 3 days, and cost a third what it was going to cost where I live in Northern Michigan. They were quick to respond, I got an appt in just a couple weeks, and they did everything they could to make the whole process as smooth as possible. I am very happy with my results, and would not hesitate to use them again!Posted on Google![]()

Unfortunately, I had a really disappointing experience at Olive Dental and would not recommend them. We drove all the way from Orange County specifically for our appointments, and they took us about an hour late with no real apology. When I brought up the delay, I was simply told that medical appointments can run long depending on treatments. I completely understand being 10–15 minutes behind, but an entire hour feels like a scheduling issue, especially when patients have other appointments and plans. Because they were running so far behind, I actually had to skip my own treatment entirely because we had another appointment at 1:15 and no longer had enough time. Only my husband got the treatment. On top of that, I was quoted $50 for a teeth cleaning over the phone, and that was also the price advertised on their website. Once we arrived, they tried to charge me $100 instead. After a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth, they finally agreed to honor the $50 price that had originally been quoted and advertised. The front desk experience made everything worse. The woman we dealt with was rude, had a bad attitude, and showed very little concern about the fact that we had already been waiting an hour. I’ve been to other dental offices in Tijuana and have had much better experiences. I honestly wish I had waited for one of my previous offices to have an opening instead of coming here. Between the hour-long delay, the attempted price change, poor communication, and rude customer service, this was a horrible experience. I’m genuinely surprised by all of the five-star reviews because our experience was nowhere close to five stars. Definitely would not return or recommend.Posted on Google![]()

What’s the Price of All-on-4 Dental Implants in Tijuana?
This treatment is done per arch. So, for a full mouth implant, you’ll need 2 treatments, one for the top complete arch and one for the bottom.
The all-on-4 is performed in two phases: In the first one, after the CT Scan the implants are put and a temporary denture (usually built around a titanium framework) is placed, for 6-8 months. Once that is fully healed, comes the second phase: the implants become fixed to the jawbone and the permanent fixed dentures can be placed.
Procedure | Price (USD) |
|---|---|
All on Four – Implants & acrylic bridge | $8,900 |
All on Six – Implants & acrylic bridge | $11,100 |
All on Eight – Implants & acrylic bridge | $13,300 |
